The church planter – For over 20 years, Barry Hendrick has worked with adults, college students, and teens as an evangelist, teacher, pastor, church planter, and mentor. His style is compassionate, but bold; relational but challenging; and he is always trying to facilitate the growth of people by helping them discover their “next steps” to get closer to God.
Barry’s heart for world missions has led him to serve as a teacher and evangelist on short term mission trips to Grenada, Romania, Albania, and Panama. He has also planted churches in New Orleans, Birmingham, and Denver. For the last few years he has served as chair of the board of Bread of Life African Ministry (BOLAM) which serves underprivileged children in Uganda. BOLAM has already built its first home for orphaned and abandoned children in the city of Kabale and is preparing to build its second home. Barry also is the founder and President of Ultimate Impact: a ministry which utilizes the model of Jesus to disciple people to maturity and evangelistic fruitfulness.
He planted a church in Erie, Colorado; Living Faith Christian Fellowship. It launched in September of 2015. Barry and his family lived in the Denver area from 2002-2011, so this was like “coming home” for him. His desire is for this new church in Erie to become a “church planting” church which will help start other healthy churches all over the region in the next few years and then multiply church plantings both domestically and around the world.
His wife, Knoel, works as a social worker on the Trauma Unit at Good Samaritan hospital and as a Christian Counselor. She also serves in the Women’s ministry and Children’s ministry at Living Faith. They have been married for 25 years and have three beautiful daughters, Hope (19), Grace (17), and Faith (14).
